Yes, some of the sad monohullers have a hard time thinking about boats that have more than one..it blows the .5 amp fuse in their brain.
The Polynesian Islanders were using multihulls to explore an area far greater than that explored by the monohulls... which mainly sailed close to shore... being scared of large open waters for the most part.  Crossing the Atlantic was the exception that proves the rule btw.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
