learning to trapeeze near LA

Hello All,

I've sailed keel boats a little. I wouldn't call myself an expert or anything, but I can singlehand small boats, and both crew and helm larger boats, and have done runs out to the California Channel islands before.

I want to get into smaller (trailerable) boat sailing, and most of the really fun looking boats seem to be trapeze boats.

Should I just get one and a good wetsuit and learn by doing, or is there a place I can sign up and take classes, and maybe even play in a racing class for a bit, anywhere near LA (which to mean means from Newport to Santa Barbara)
