private sailing instructor II

Speaking of private sailing instructors, what is the “going rate” for an instructor or what should I expect to pay to hire a captian to take me out and show me the ropes(sheets )?

Hmm reminds me of that movie with Tom Cruise............

By nature of wording I am surprised I am the first to pick up on this...

Besides your screen-name, being flexible you may want to actually detail your boat and goals etc.. otherwise - we will run amuck with this now I have discovered this thread...

If I recall correctly, we paid about $200 for a private sailing instructor in Annapolis for the day. He was from one of the schools but was doing this on his own.

That is around the same as the quotes I have been getting. Around $200 a day/$25 hour.
