So excited!

The husband and I have talked about diving into the sailing world for years now and we finally are doing it.
We are taking the ASA Basic Keelboat class (he has zero sail experience and mine is decades old) at the end of the month and I can hardly wait!

That is all- just felt the need to share!

That's great, Amanda! Where will you be taking the class? And do you have your eyes on a boat of your own?

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

We are taking the class out of Sarasota.
Unfortunately we aren't looking too seriously at buying a boat right now (unless we get a dighy or something) because my husband is a contractor and we have zero stability when it comes to places we live and for how long.
Hopefully that will change in the next couple of days. (edit: wishful thinking freudian slip! I meant couple of years!)

For now I think we are going to look at some clubs- there is a sailing center with the St. Petersburg Yacht Club that looks promising.
