Getting a crew position
Hi All,
I have been sailing trailer sailers for the last four or five years and have had a 10 days bareboat charter in the Whitsundays (Benateau 365) and want to move up. It's time for something more challenging.
I am a fit, competent and keen 45yo male, easy going and stable and I would like to experience a longer voyage. As I live in NZ I thought it would be a good idea to try and get a working passage on a yacht from the Pacific islands (Fiji etc) to either NZ or Oz. I am told that Muscat Cove in Fiji is the place to be around the middle of October.
Does this sound like a sensible idea or are there other, better places to find this sort of opportunity.? I work at a university and so I am not free until 12 Oct when the students finish for the year.
I also have a message in the Crew Wanted of this community section and I keep my eyes peeled on crewseekers.net.
Thanks in anticipation
Nick
