I was wondering if anyone knew of places that give sailing lessons in the Tampa Bay, Florida area (or perhaps other areas of Florida) and could either suggest some good places or provide opinions about where to go as I'm pretty new to sailing and could use some lessons. Any thoughts?

Clearwater offers lessons. Here is their link Classes - Instruction - Clearwater Community Sailing Center
My boat won't be ready to sail for several months (inking a deal soon) or I'd take you out to learn some basics. I have found the people at Tampa Sailing Squadron (in Apollo Beach) to be very friendly and highly recommend getting involved with their group.

Ditto, St. Pete Sailing Center. You might have to wait a couple of weeks before they call you for the classes. But once you take them, you'll enjoy a year of membership, and be able to sail for free on Rhodes 19s and Ideals 18s.
