Any Nobies in the Houston area?

I have a boat much bigger than i have ever sailed and i am quite nervous about it. I was looking to make some contacts here in this area.

What boat do you have? And are you looking for some lessons?

There are a few guys I know of on this site that are in the Houston area. Maybe they could give you some tips.

SmackD is right, there are a lot of Houston sailors on SailNet, but Houston is a big place, where do you keep your boat?

We live " damn near" down town. The boat is down in the clear lake area.

If by "nobies" you mean people who are new to sailing, count me in. I just moved to the Houston area (sounds like we're pretty close to each other, I live in the med center area). Drop me a private message if you're interested in getting together.

Hmm, my account can't reply to your PM because my post count is less than 5...But in response, Iagree, we should get together. If you could shoot me another PM with your e-mail address or cell, we can work out the details via another form of communication. Looking forward to it.

Sounds great. Name the place and time; I'm free most days. Maybe somewhere in Rice Village? I don't know the Houston watering holes too well just yet; any favorites?
