I’m still trying to figure out what makes a sock so dangerous? I’m not following the headstay wrap scenario. I’ve been using socks for years for single and double handing without a problem (so far). Heck, I’ve even used a sock on my symmetrical during my 28 footer days. (Was I tempting fate all those years?) One of the benefits of the sock is you don’t have to run the tapes and pack the thing later on in the cabin. After I sock the sail, I’ll often just drop it through the fore hatch and I’m ready for the second (or third) launch of the day!
