My 10y/o went to a sailing camp here in FL. The kids played follow the leader and tag a sailed from one ICW island to another in sunfishes. Camp days were 10 to 3. She came home and wanted to take a nap each day. She loved it so much that after the second day she wanted us to sign her up for another week. We did. We also bought her an old sunfish for her to sail while we (my wife and I) are out on the hobie. We still play follow the leader, although i have to sail the hobie slower. She has a radio, and we have a radio.
There is another guy on our beach who has put all three of his kids in a pram (not all at once, one at a time as they have grown up), he tied 200' of line to the bow, an the other end to a post in the water. When they sail to the end of the line, the boat comes about for them. The kids sail back and forth all day. It seems funny at first, but his 16 y/o kicked my a$$ in the last hobie 16 class race.
