Yes, our boat will be at the West Basin Marina at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station starting tomorrow, which is literally a stones throw from the Chesapeake and Solomons Island. So, I hope that the tides won't be too significant.

I just put the chafing guards on the lines and intent to tie everything off tomorrow at the slip. There are also a couple of hooks on the pilings now. Since only two boats can use any one, can I assume I could loop the line on the hook when I head out for a sail? Does it really make sense to nail more of these hooks into a piling when one's already there?

I guess it depends on how friendly your slip neighbors are, if they placed them there.
