Singlehanded Tips Book – Major upgrade

I’ve made several changes and improvements to my book Thoughts, Tips, Techniques & Tactics for Singlehanded Sailing. As always, the complete book can be downloaded free at Singlehanded Tips Book

Changes include:
Ch 1: A neat review of the book
Ch 3: Spinnaker design for singlehanding; spinnaker socks and nets. Artemis Offshore Academy.
Ch 4: An article on my race to Hawaii
Ch 6: Blake’s hitch to climb the mast
Ch 7: The “main first” method of gybing the spinnaker – this one is important! Learn it and use it!
Ch 9: Broadband radar – significant power savings

We crossed 11,000 downloads yesterday, which is far more than I ever dreamed. I hope you are all enjoying it. Your comments are more than welcome.

Dr. Neil Weston (whom I quote in Chapter 2) has written a chapter “Learning to cope in extreme environments: Solo ocean endurance sailing." in a brand new book called “Coping and Emotion in Sport, 2nd Edition”. It is available on-line. http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415578196/

This is an awesome book that I have recommended before.
I can't believe it is free.

Andy ...

It IS truly an awesome book ... one that I have now read twice .. and have started a third time as I am currently rerigging my Ranger 23 and will be doing quite abit of solo sailing on San Francisco Bay ...

I have literally 15 -20 questions that rereading hopefully will answer ...

I too can not believe it's free ... quite an invaluable asset ... even for a rookie like me who is straining to learn and understand and experience ...

Thanks again ... for sharing your experience and knowledge

John
