Hello World!

Hello everyone! I'm in the process of buying my first sailboat, a Catalina 25. I will be primarily sailing the FL keys, although eventually I would like to take her to the Bahamas.

I have been a hand on a similar sailboat twice, and I have done a lot of reading, but that is the extent of my sailing knowledge.

I would appreciate any advice you could give to me - tips, suggested reading, etc.

Thank you all and Happy Sailing!

That's the same boat I sailed last year.
Congratulations, have fun.

When motoring in chop have everyone get in the back of the boat.
Holds the stern down and keeps the prop in the water better.

Reef the first time you go out.
Make sure you can do it easily. If not figure it out.
Boat does ok in 25 knots but you have to reef it otherwise it will be no fun.

Congrats! You've chosen an excellent sailing vessel.

Okay, I'm a little biased.
