Island Sailing Club

Anyone know of them in Portland, OR?
Basic keelboat lessons are about $399 plus $39 ASA membership.
Is this a good rate?

I'm a little late on this (apparently I need to browse the forums more), but in my opinion as a member of Island Sailing Club is a great place to learn, and a great alternative to owning your own boat. The core group of guys who run the place are fantastic, as is the instruction group.

I know they were running a Christmas special where ASA 101 was $300, which is a pretty good deal. Not sure the details, but I imagine they might consider it a "winter special" over a Christmas special and give that rate if you take the course in the winter. That's when I took it a couple years back and it was great. Winter sailing here is underrated. If you decide to take the course, see if you can take it when Rhys is teaching it.

I am no longer in Portland I know there is a "sailing in portland" Meetup group that is pretty active someone is going out pretty much every tuesday and most saturdays. not that it has anything to do with your origional question but thought you might want to know about some local sailors. if you take that course with island let us know how it goes. I am thinking about doing it at the olympia location.
