Proud Son

Took part in a (small) class state championship this weekend just gone by. We didn't have a huge number of contenders, the best sailors of the class couldn't make it this tim, and I personally didn't win any places myself... but my eldest was crewing for the boat that did win the regatta.

He's not a real competitive sort and he's not a bragger when he does accomplish something of note... but he couldn't wipe the grin off his face from when he went up to get his trophy. He's still got that goofy grin on his face today.

It might not be the accomplishment of winning a medal or placing in state championships for a class people would recognise... but it made me a proud father and, given he's still in sailing school, it's something I thought I could mention here

Re: Proud Son

That's awesome! I agree with Mike, that's a great confidence builder and may turn into a strong motivator for him. Congratulations to you both!
