I live here and you can Itoo

Its called the Everglades Adventures and Sailing Resort. Its on lake okeechobee in the middle of florida and you can get here from either coast via the loxahatchee waterway. There is no harbormaster ********,no liveaboard whoopdeedoo permit,no insurance needed,no background check, but the lake and the marina have depth requirements.Every so often they let the water out to counteract any possible flooding that may occur for a storm. One year they let so much out that the boats were fast aground for months. But the rates are very reasonable ,for instance for my 30 foot sloop I pay 274.00 per month total. It doesnt matter how many people are on board.keep in mind that this is not a full service marina.there are only a few docks with fone lines, there is no cable tv,there are showers, there is a camp ground on site for campers,I have been here for 5 years, and it is in the boonies. It is far from everywhere.whereas the marina itself is safe except for the monster gators, you cant walk aroud the "hood"without a loaded weapon. All in all its not a bad place.I no longer have visions of harbor nazzis rousting me out of my "house"

the marina has less than 100 slips, there only 2 or three liveaboards, they wouldnt care who does or who doesnt, the term "sneakaboard" is never used(we use the "N" word more often)and it fills up with boats during a hurricane .yesterday(9/1 2004)the marina filled up with all sorts of boats from the coast.Oh and.HEY!!! theres all sorts of slips on the intercoastal. They are 36 dollars per foot per month based on a 40 foot minimun. You can move in tommorro! At some places you need to have a verifiable net worth of no less than 1.1 million dollars. So just like the tv commercials in the 1960s...COME ON DOWN!!!!
