Bridge Clearance for Ft. Myers
The Sanibel Drawbridge is a 90-foot span Bascule Bridge that accommodates two lanes of vehicular traffic in an East & West Direction. Vessel traffic depending on their height may require a drawbridge opening due to different tide levels: 24-foot clearance at high tide and 28-foot clearance at low tide. On average 6,000 vessels annually require a drawbridge opening.
Marine Radio Channels: Marine Channels # 9 & # 16 are monitored on a daily basis by Sanibel Drawbridge Tenders.
Midpoint Memorial Bridge is 81 Ft. wide. It has two east and two west bound lanes with breakdown lanes in both directions.
There is a 55 Ft. vertical clearance for boats and a clearance width of 200 Ft. in the shipping channel.
The Cape Coral Bridge is composed of two fixed spans approximately 3400 feet long with a vertical clearance of 55 feet above the Caloosahatchee channel and a width of 95 feet clearance for the center channel.
