Holding tank jeanneau 51

Well, I finally bought my boat! A Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 51, 1991. It is a fixer, but soild otherwise. My question to anyone who can help is "my boat is from the Caribbean and has NO holding tanks, so does anyone have experience fitting some in"? I am going to keep her in California and live on her. I need one( or more than one) holding tank, sizeable enough so I don''t have to constantly " pump out" at the pumping dock etc. California has very strict No Discharge rules in harbors and anchorages( as they should). I do know that some 51''s used a small sigle holding tank below each head that held a minimal amount of waste, just enough for a typical weekly charter. While most waste is discharged directly into the sea! That is not very practical for me.

Anyone with info on this particular application would be appreciated.

There are several options when it comes to holding tanks. The best option would be to custom fit a plastic holding tank under a bunk, in the V-berth, or under the floorboards. A simpler quicker solution is to buy "bladder" type expandable bags that will conform to the shape of the space as the bag fills.

You definitely don't want to risk discharging in a no discharge zone.

I'd agree that the best option would be a custom or semi-custom plastic tank. You might want to contact Jeanneau America, and see if you can get one through them for the boat. The bladders can be a good option, but I'd be hesitant to use one for a waste tank. If it gets ruptured or leaks... there will be the devil to pay. Just my $.02 worth.
