The LiveAboard online magazine website is now a homepage highjacker and should be avoided. It is NOT a virus or anything illegal, just one of those nauseating marketing fixtures that injects a cookie onto your computer and tries to highjack your homepage. At any rate, no liveaboard stuff at all.
I've been an active participant on livingaboard, here at sailnet and a couple other sites for some time. Some spam lingers longer before moderation on livingaboard, but I've never found it unsafe.
I was on Livingaboard' sforum just a few minutes ago. I have been a member for several years. Never had a problem. What kind of anti-virus and anti ad software are you using. I use both AVG and Ad-Aware. I rarely ever have any problems with unwanted downloads, including malicious cookies.
