Search out Miller Marina, Jefferson Beach Marina, Emerald City Marina and Michigan Harbor all in St. Clair Shores, Mi. I believe some if not all allow winter livaboard.
Keans on the upper Detroit River also does as does the DYC on Belle Isle in Detroit. There is one on the Clinton River but I forget the name. I've heard there are several hundred livaboards in the metro Detroit area.

There's some great threads in the archives of this subforum about other winter living issues, condensation, heating, insulation. Check them out - and if you and he still have questions I'm sure those of us crazy enough to live aboard where the snow flies could answer them - no extra charge for the cheap wisecracks
