Renting?

What are the logistics to renting a live aboard boat (as far as insurance, costs, etc)? Do many people even rent out their boats for several months? If so, where would be a good place to start looking? I'd be looking for a boat in Sacramento, CA.

I don't know of many that would be willing to rent out their boat, unless it was a business...there are too many problems with doing that in terms of insurance, liability, etc. I doubt most charter companies would do this as weekly charters are probably a lot more profitable.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I would also like to rent.

I will be in Los Angeles for about two months and I would like to rent a live aboard. Any information would be appreciated.
