Rockport is great. Just spent the weekend there. I live in New Braunfels, TX about 3hrs away. Father in-law has condo and sailboat there. (well the boat will be there soon) Nice clean, quiet town. One of the better places on the Texas coast in my opinion.
Let me know if you want more info on the area and if you''ll be down there let me know and we''ll sail!

We have been in Rockport for the last 15 months finishing a retrofit on our sailboat. We love the area and would also recommend it for a place to bring your boat. There are lots of marinas, but some don''t have enough water depth for a sailboat. Key Allegro Marina is the first place I would check for a slip. I would suggest that you search out a slip before you come since they seem hard to find. We were helping to look for a slip for a friend and found a great website that lists the marinas on the gulf coast. I don''t remember the name, but do a search for "gulf coast marinas and I bet you will find it.

Let me know if you have more questions since we know the area very well now. We won''t be here by the time you come or I also would suggest a sail.
