Smile Where to start?

My wife and I want to take the next two years to plan for a live aboard off-shore sailing or motor cruising adventure (a couple years on the west coast, I think). But, we're not really sure where to start. We are not experienced boaters. We are recently retired and are even considering selling our home to buy a boat. I have purchased some books to read about living aboard. I'm looking for some practical advice. Thx, ds8618

Do a search on the topics of intrest to you here...learning to sail, buying a boat, etc. ..lots of old threads and info on the subject.
As for books about cruising preparation...try Beth Leonard's Voyagers Handbook.
