house sititng while you are at sea.
HOUSE SITTER - For those who sail and need their homes cared for while they are at sea.
I am a retired registered nurse offering live-in house sitting services. You can count on me to be reliable, flexable, and detailed. I will be happy to walk, feed and care for your animals, horses , too.tend your garden and preserve your home grown foods. I have been a home owner for 35 years dealing with various maintenance issues. Please, know that I will consider all requset. However, I would prefer locations on/near the water which offer educational and cultural opportunities.Fee is based on duties, travel expenses, accommodations and length of stay. I will accept 2 week stays or longer.

So shoreflower, how much will you pay me for you to enjoy the luxuries of living in my home while I'm at sea?

This is actually a thriving business among those who can afford it and has numerous obvious advantages to anyone having valuable property to preserve or protect. Just not sure whether that market is adequately represented here as much as those who would offer condescending responses...

I am aware of the service K1 - we've hired housesitters while on vacation several times to watch the house, take in the mail and water the plants - at times even housesit the dog. But, we've always gone through a local, professionally certified agency who would send people out for daily visits.
Perhaps I should get into the habit of using a smily icon to help in conveying the intended humor of my replies.

Of course, the other option is to rent the house out, and make some money while you're out sailing on your circumnavigation... which makes more sense... paying someone to sit in your house and burn your electricity, waste your water, and such... or having someone rent the place and pay for the electricity, water and such... You do need to have a good property management company or someone else responsible if you're going to go the rental route though.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I'd do a paid house sitting stint if the house owner had the decency to insure the dock could hold my boat, the pool and hot tub service kept them clean, and the refridge and panty were stocked to my liking. I'd give a cut rate if the booze cabinet was restocked and a expense account was opened for replenishment.

Look at all this liquor
Look at all this food
It's only gonna go to waste
We're not really being rude
But the good stuff's in his closet, I swear he wouldn't mind
Hell, we''ll just shoot the lock off, I do it all the time
We're gypsies in the palace, he's left us here alone
The order of the sleepless knights will now assume the throne
We ain't got no money, we ain't got no fight
But we're gypsies in the palace, we got it all tonight

I think Warren and Bill both have house sitters and not many others could afford to have you house sit for them...
