I know a few boats at Brewers Yacht Haven in Stamford Ct do it (are they really "allowed" to I don''t know). For the winter they move the boats all to one protected area and put bubblers on them. This is not an inexpensive marina, but I bet other Brewers Yards do it and other Marina''s.
Go to www.byy.com for more info on Brewers Yacht yards. |

Plenty of liveaboards on the Hudson. Only marina for winter is Liberty Landing Marina, in summer all are fine with it. I didn''t call everyone just those from Hoboken south. A couple in Weehawken may allow winter liveaboards but I didn''t check. I understand that marina''s allow or don''t object to liveaboards on a couple of marinas on City Island.

"liveaboards" can also be found at Lincoln Harbor Yacht Club on the Hudson, north of Newport Marina and south of Port Imperial. But it is very "rock and rolly" with all the ferry traffic. It is, relatively speaking, quiet on the weekends and between midnight and 5 am during the week.

I live aboard my 38cc Irwin in Stony point NY. I winter at Patsy''s Bay Marina, and summer at Willow Cove North Marina. (Only about 1/4 mile apart) Patsy''s Bay is pretty well protected, but reletivly shallow. I bottom out my 4''6" draft at very low tide conditions.

I''ve seen livaboards at Captain Cove Marina in Bridgeport.
There is another one next to it, I believe the name is Cedar Marina but not sure. |
