What is it?

Can anyone tell me what the big white stick thing is on top of my floating house is for? I know it has a purpose, I just can't remember what it is?

I really need to go sailing.

The big white stick is for a large, vertical barbeque. Stack charcoal around the base. Contact insurance company later. God Bless your son the Marine!

Very nice sentiment and a damn good idea! But............I am just ranting.

Currently I am stuck working in Monterey, CA. I use stuck because even though Monterey is a nice town and the bay is great, my boat is at Bainbridge Island.

Every weekend I see boats out sailing and I get down right jealous. I have tried to convince my Project Manager that I need two, possibly three weeks off, when the weather is good, to sail my boat down here. But alas he won't budge.

So for the next couple of months I will sit on the pier, drinking a nice heifweizen, grinding my teeth, envying and hating the sailors out on the water.

The only thing I have to look forward to is the thought that in April I will get four days off and then I will fly up to Seattle and sail my house with the big stick on it whether it is rain or shine.
