Cheap DIY boatyard with Dry Dock storage Florida/Georgia

Hi

We're an Australian couple who have just purchased a 30 foot Bristol. We need to find a cheap DIY boatyard with dry dock storage (possible liveaboard option while we work on her?) in the Florida/Georgia area. We need to be able to sail her in, haul her out and dry dock her. Somewhere ideally not too far from a major airport. Boat may need to be in dry dock for about three months while we make a trip home (May through July)

We'd welcome any suggestions

Ant & Carol

Try Indiantown Marina on the Okeechobee waterway, just west of Stuart, FL.

Yu don't say whee the boat is now. East coast or west. On the east coast you have Seven Seas Marina near Daytona Beach, west of Okeechobee their is Glades boat storage, also in Titusville next to the municipal marina (westland?) you can live on the hard at any of these.lpng term storage may vary. Up the St. Johns there is Green Cove as well as a Small DIY yard near Palatka, the name escapes me.Of course St.Augustine has qute a few options.
I would start buy callig an inquiring on availability
I personally am not a fan of Indiantown as they seemed a bit controlling and greedy. As if they are just looking for an excuse to get a hand in your pocket.
But if you have large pockets I'm sure it is a fine yard.

Does Georgia have a west coast? Anyway I'd opt for Tiger Point marina in Fernandina Beach right on the FL/GA border about an hour from Jacksonville airport.

A Shameless plug

For Green Cove Springs Marina. Located on the St. Johns River just south of Jacksonville.
I admit I am the dockmaster there, but we might be just what your looking for.

Crackerboy was a friendly place to work. But it's more than a walk to any stores so plan on renting a car. They lock up after about 9pm and it's pretty quiet. You can stay aboard on the hard. Big plus is Marine Connection Liquidators about 5 miles away. TONS of used gear.

So what did you decide on and what were your reasons for the choice you made?

*Note- Vasco , To my knowledge GA. does not have a west coast, However Florida has one.

Green Cove Springs Marina (2nding Dave's shameless plug) is a friendly place with a lot of folks doing the live aboard while refitting thing.
