Advice if this boat is blue water

Im looking at a 1970 Conyplex Contest 30 for 10k. Is this boat worthy and safe for my family and myself to do some coastal cruising and maybe a live aboard? Heres more info

Year: 1970

Dimensions:
LOA: 30'
LWL: 25'

Volvo MD II Diesel Engine - 25hp - Runs Good

Sails in good working order - Spinnaker, Genoa, Jib, Drifter, and Main

Tankage:
Fuel: 20 Gallons

thanks for your input.

I would suggest that the Contest 30 is still a reasonable coastal cruiser but they would not be very offshore capable.

My family owned an earlier Contest 25. While nicely finished and cleverly dteailed, the overall design and build quailty of these early Contests just was not all that great and they are now nearly 40 years old.
