Freakin lawyers and people like the dinghy thief are what have turned the whole planet into a S*** H***. The dinghy thief should run for office, it sounds like he would make a great politician as well....

Not considering the language used on the phone with tager.

At least (so far as we know) he isn't bad-mouthing people on an Internet forum. Tager, give it a rest. You're out a whole twenty bucks. Is it really worth all of this?

It's in the lazerette?
Oh, never mind...
I didn't REALLY need it anyway.

He sent you a letter in November.
You ignored it.
He confiscated your boat.
That got your attention.
You are getting off lucky.

If you are really really lucky, nobody will email your landlord a link to this thread, and you can avoid eviction and a defamation suit.

From what I've seen in this thread, and some of tager's other posts, I doubt he has enough good karma to keep his landlord from hearing about all of this.

Tager, if I were you (and I'm glad I'm not), I would: 1) start looking for a slip elsewhere ASAP; and 2) do a goodly about of introspection on how you conduct yourself, particularly vis--vis your interactions with others.

It sounds like you've made the best of a bad situation. I agree with the others that you could have short-circuited this issue by storing your dinghy differently to begin with, but I think it was a pretty gray area and I'm not sure I would have been any wiser myself :P

I cringed when I heard you had written a letter of apology, but then I remembered that your choices are basically try to patch things up with your landlord or go and find new moorage. You can win a legal battle against him, but then the animosity will never end.

Off topic...I'm new here so maybe someone can explain this to me.

I'm trying to follow the thread but, all of Trager's posts contain only the following text: "111"

What gives?
