Swimming in Chesapeake Bay

We are new to Chesapeake Bay area and are looking for a sandy beach to take our grandson to this summer. Anyone have any suggestions? We have a 6.5'' draft. We would like to find something within 25 or so miles of Stingray Point area, but could easily go further if something really good is there :) Thanks so much
