This is a somewhat old thread to respond to but here goes:
Frostbiting is usually done as one class boat races, that is Optis, Widgeons, Sunfish or whatever. If you really want to race my guess that is that you are out of luck for a PHRF fleet after November on LI. If you just want to sail on the rare warm days that do occur then this should be your choice. You will likely find at least one or two boats out in the Huntington Bay area on a nice day and you can 'race' them, or me if I happen to still have my Lightning in the water or trailer ready.
In water storage sounds nice but I always like my boats to have a chance to dry out and hopefully not have any blisters in their hulls.
