Hey,

I was out racing Wednesday June 24 and we saw about 100 dolphins moving east from Port Jeff. Then on Saturday June 27 I saw some more in Hempstead and on Sunday as I was approaching the Hudson river and we saw another group. I sailed back from NY City Wednesday and Thursday, but we didn't see any more dolphins.

I just got back from sailing from Bermuda to Newport with the Bermuda Cruising Rally and thought it was so cool to be able to see Dolphins out in the ocean. Little did I know I would have just of had to sail my own boat half a mile into the sound LOL...

Maybe it's the year of the dolphin. I saw many on my way from Florida, in the ICW, even in NJ entering Cape May Harbor.
Barry, Nk, we are the Mt Sinai chapter of sailnet. When is the first meeting? I just brought rum aboard Wandering Star.....

I am down for whenever! How about next weekend like Friday or Sat afternoon /night? PS about 2 weeks ago my gf and I were waiting for the launch to bring us out to our boat and I saw Wandering Star pulling in and going to your mooring as I recognized it from the pics of your trip you posted. Before we left the harbor on our own, we motored over to you to try and say hello but you must have just gotten off. Your boat is stunning though! By far my favorite in the harbor.

But yeah your idea for a little get together sounds great. Even if not though, mine is "Capricorn" and has a green sail cover and is moored just North of the little island with the BBQ on it in the middle of the harbor so feel free to swing by whenever. We stay on it every weekend.

I have a special needs child who really relates to Dolphins. This was the motivation for doing the "Swim with Dolphins" thing in FL a couple years back.

If anyone spots a pod of dolphins, please let me know. We'll head out and see if we can find them. I know it would someone very happy to see them.

Somewhere around here I posted a picture of the Swimming with Dolphins. Not sure where it is.

The best minds discuss sailing (and a little bit of politics). I don't know why. It's a mystery!
