Sailed Yesterday
Got underway about noon. Close reach in a moderate nw, hazy sunshine, 1-2' seas. Pretty near alone on the Sound, just the ferry and a couple of lobstermen. Let her sail herself while I made a sandwich, sat on the cabin to look around. Out toward Middle Ground we came about, close reached back, setting east with the ebb. Set the jib as the wind fell, sped up nicely. Tacked over, alongshore toward PJ. Hardened up, furled the jib. Bore away and jibed, ran down to Mt Sinai. Sailed through the inlet, rounded up, stuck sail in the lee of the hills to the west. Furled and motored to the dock.
It was nice.
