Re: Norwalk CT

Here's an update on this relatively old thread.

I never make it to Norwalk with my family. After a bad experience sailing to Block Island they vetoed any long(ish) multi-day trips in the boat.

I did sail to Norwalk Aug 7 with a group of friends (we did Norwalk, Oysterbay, Milford, then home, but that's another story). We stayed at Norwalk Cove Marine. They place was nice, but as mentioned, too far from town to walk there. We took a cab to town, walked around, ate, then cabbed it home. The ride costs under $10 and took less than 10 minutes. Norwalk Cove is right next door to a nice park with a nice beach. If you want to swim, walk, hike, and do things like that, Norwalk Cove would be great. If you want to go to SONO, it's probably not the right place.

I'm sailing with another group of friends starting tomorrow. We're doing Northport tomorrow, then probably Norwalk Saturday. I am thinking of going to Rex Marine this time because of the closeness to SONO (these guys like to party). If I do go to Rex I will give an update.
