Replacing Steering Cable on '96 26x

Anybody familiar with replacing the steering cable on a '96 26x? Mine apparently siezed as I replaced the gear box 2 weeks ago... I have the cable assembly removed from the rudder/engine but there is a tube still connected to the cable that I don't understand how its attached? Does it come with the steering cable? Any recommended dealers? Thanks, Dan

just done it

Greetings from plano ,Tx,
have just done the change for my 96 -26x , after much ado, I settled on calling Blue water yacths out of seattle, very evry helpfull, knew there stuff, shipping was great, the change made steering much easier, althou87gh no quit like a rack and pinon. The cost was under 200$ , easy to reinstall, no extra holes to drill.
