A Silly (?) question about Venture 222 Hull ID number

This is probably a silly question but I have to ask, The other day I got ambitious and looked for the Hull ID on my Venture 222. It was surprisingly easy to find. It was hiding right behind the battery on the starboard side under the cockpit, right where every one said it would be. Turns out is is Hull number 569. I have two questions, Does the Hull ID show you what number your hull is from the time they started making these boats or is it the number of that model they made that year?
Second question , did any one else get this HUGH sense of personal satisfaction once they spotted their Hull ID?

Barb
