Using GoPro camera to inspect bottom/prop

Here's a video we made with our GoPro camera. We wanted to take a look to see how bad the bottom looked before we cleaned it. What we saw when we popped the SD card into the laptop was a surprise! We just took an old boat hook, by the way, and a little bit of drilling here, a couple of screws here, and we had our own camera extender!

If the water's clear you can also do a cursory inspection with a mechanic's mirror on a stick..

I've a GoPro too - but can't find a way to improve the sharpness of the image when filming underwater - anyone got any tips?

There are aftermarket housings designed to improve the GoPro's imaging performance underwater. To to ScubaBoard - Scuba Diving Forum - Diving Social Network - ScubaBoard Home and poke around there. Many threads on the subject.
