Centerboard

Does anyone know how to take the centerboard winch apart on a mariner 2+2? I need to replace the cable and can't get the thing apart.

You shouldn't have to take the winch apart too much to change the wire. There has to be a hole in the drum that the wire passes through. The wire will be held in place either by a set screw (sometimes doubled) or else it passes all the way through and a stop sleeve is crimped on the end.
Take a few good close-ups of the winch and post them. That will help.
