Anchorages in Boston harbor islands?

Does anyone have any info about holding ground in the harbor islands? I'm in cohasset and looking to spend a week around them before hauling out. I'm not finding much info on good anchorages around the islands in my cruising guides or online. Any good places to drop a hook?

Thanks!
Paul

Sure, print a copy of the Coastal Pilot #1, http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/n...t_w.php?book=1 or at least of Chapter 11, Boston Harbor. refer to the "anchorage" paragraph for Boston and adjacent areas you may have interest in. Remember to check the forecast to avoid exposure to uncomfortable wind directions.

PS - the charts also display the bottom conditions.

Some of the islands have moorings that the state put in first come first served , some provide row boats to make it easy , call the dcr park rangers

There is a Boston Liveaboard list on Yahoo. Ahmet, who manages the list, is a great resource.

See Boston Harbor Islands Trip Planner | Island Moorings | Boston Harbor Islands for info about the mooring balls.
