My son recently purchased 1968 Apache 37. Looks to be a strong and decent boat.
He contacted me and I'm concerned about the usual older boat replacement list.....most seem OK, keel bolts, turnbuckles, etc. but chain-plates have him wondering. He isn't seeing them vertical anywhere. He is currently looking again, I assume they are connected to bulkhead which is on both sides of mast, but he swears "he can't find them and they must be deck plate or something".
Are they deck supported ? If so could you explain the construction of them. I want him to be sure of them before he tries to come home to Kauai from NW.
Thanks
