Cored or Solid Hull

Is the hull of a 1977 Mirage 24 cord or solid below the water line?

Re: Cored or Solid Hull

Pretty sure that boat has a solid glass hull, with a cored deck. However '77 was about the time the mainstream builders started moving into core in hulls in a bigger way so it would be nice to know for sure..

Re: Cored or Solid Hull

I owned a 75 Mirage 24 and loved it. Solid hull, remember installing the speedo through hull and drilling into the transom to install split back stays. About 5/8 to 3/4" of solid glass in both places. Not sure about the deck but suspect it would be cored.

Re: Cored or Solid Hull

I got info from a surveyor about the 24. He said the hull is solid and the decks are balsa cored in the flat areas and at stress points.
