Yes, i always buy projects. The trick is to buy one that the wife can get behind and enjoy. It usually means i have to reslly jump on the project and give her what i promised it would be.

Also, like we discussed before, i love the process and seeing the results. It's like theropy to me.

Re: Mirage 29, a make over.

Have you had success in that... Past success is a great confidence builder.

I used to write murder mystery plays.. at first I would stress out when I didn't have... or even started.. one by a certain date...

But I got so knew.. It would be mostly done on this weekend

Re: Mirage 29, a make over.

Thats really cool, a writer huh?

Well i installed two breakers one for the radio and another for the bilge pump.

The bilge pump has an auto switch on it which gives me piece of mind while i am away.

Pulled the wires out of the mast, didnt have a small enough screw driver and no one was around to borrow one so that has to go on hold till i get mine from the house.

Next weekend plan to address the water system by cleaning/flushing out the exsisting tanks.

Also the main will be ready by wednesday of next week so if im lucky ill be under sail on the night of the 4th or the day of the 5th.

Re: Mirage 29, a make over.

I guess when i finally make up my mind of what i want it to be!

Yesterday i replaced the power wires to the radio with 14 gauge wiring.

I also performed a much needed full service to the motor and gear box. The water separator was terribly corroded and was probably well over due. After the service was complete it ran so much smoother. Feel much more comfortable running under power now.

Also started on the marine head which was rigged to begin with and half ass installed. There is only one bolt holding it down and the pvc attachment to the hose that leafs to the hold is broken. Once i fixed that there is a plug in the side that literally decentigrated once i started pumping water...annoying.

I worked a little on the mast wiring. Still unsure why the anchor light or spreader lights are not working.

Main sail should be done today....its the 4th so im not so sure thats true but we shall see.

Happy 4th everyone, hope to see you on the water!

Re: Mirage 29, a make over.

Got the main back but got home to late to go for a test sail, to many boats on the water. Managed to repair the head and get that working as well as re rigged the main.

Watched some fireworks off the bow with my family for the first time. My little girl sat in my lap and we watched the sunset together, it was like something out of my dreams. Probably one of the proudest moments of my life.
