Your new yacht is similar to ours that we bought early this year. After many searches on the net, we got ourselves a Peterson 44, as she proved to have the ideal measurements from the sailnet calculation index. She is from the same year as your 46. In contrast to you, we sailed half around the world in a 33 feet yacht. Thus, this boat is massive to me.
We have a 3-4 year plan to get her up to scratch for our next trip (planning full circle this time), so will be looking forward to your articles of upgrading Serengeti.
All the best,

The answer from Larry and Sue:
Congratulations on your new boat. Yes, the Peterson 44 and our Peterson 46 (built by Formosa) are actually the same hull, with ours just stretched a little in the cockpit area. We know your boat very well, and looked at several of them to buy also. We have two good friends who just crossed the Atlantic in their Peterson 44 and are currently in Ireland . They loved the way their boat performed on the crossing.
We are one month into our major refit of Serengeti and have gotten a lot accomplished. We're very happy with the integrity of the boat from all we have seen so far, and are sure you will find the same thing.
Regards,
Sue & Larry
