Cruising in a Morgan 24?

Anybody out there gone far from shore in an M24? I have one that is getting fixed up very nicely--although it may be a couple years before it has all that I want for a long trip. But have a dream of eventually sailing over from Florida to the Bahamas and then on down. Anybody ever tried something like that in an M24 or M25? Anybody ever got into some pretty good weather? How do they perform? Appreciate any guidacne.

thanks,
Gordon

I got caught off shore in a Morgan 24, and ran into a bad storm, I had to stop typing for a moment and kiss the ground just now, thinking about that. It is a nice boat for a lake or a bay.

I was caught in the bay a month ago by 3-4 ft seas and 25-30 knot winds on a M24. Don't think I would want to try your trip. Maybe if I were a world class cruising sailor.
