transducer/thru hull question

I have a 1969 Morgan 34. The original depth transducer that came with this boat is forward of the keel, in the center. It seems to be a clean hole, no threads, with the transducer sitting in it with no visible means keeping it in there, no thru hull ( ) so it's probably glued?

I want to replace the transducer and would appreciate any info.

I have a '73 Morgan, although a different model, I'm sure the same style thick strong hull. I'm very pleased with my transducer puck that reads through the hull. You might want to take the next hull out opportunity to "glass " over the transducer hole. You can place the puck transducer on a zip lock bag of water temporarily until you find the best spot.
