Repowering M34

I am looking to repower my M 34. I have a Westerbeake B-104 , 40 hp
diesel. Has anyone repowered with a Yanmar, Perkins or any other brand with the same hp? If so, I am interested in the model number you used and if it fits nicely without to much trouble.

My 34 was repowered with a yanmar diesel, 3GMF. It works well, looks right and the room around the engine is adequate. One downside is the exhaust hose runs too close to the CB pennant, so I put chafe protection on the hose. Also, I haven't had to drive it to windward in heavy weather.
