M 34 Hole in keel.
Dear Morgan 34 owners
Here is a good one.
I have M34 Hull # 110 from 1967. The past few seasons I have noticed
a deteriation of the fiberglass just forward of the centerboard . This hole is now about 2" in diameter and runs horizontal about 12' underneath the lead keel. It looks to be an empty void just above the stem of the hull. No water enters the boat. I am cutting this section out, and layering fiberglass to fill this void. My question is : Is there supposed to be a " stop" for the centerboard so that it does not pivot to far forward? Maybe this is why
this area has been broken off . I plan on fiberglassing a bronze piece of metal
in this area to limit the travel of the centerboard in the full down position.
