Hi,
I own an N28 which had the transom railing broken from a mishap of the previous owner. It was a one piece. After installing fishing
pole holders in the holes left on the deck, I bought SS tubing and a pipe bender from home depot. I used one of my rulers with a 180deg picture to do the initial 60 deg angle. the following bends were a bit harder but before long I finished the new split transom railing and added a
ladder in the middle. I added an extral horizontal pipe on each side about 6" from the transom which will support the davits.
In all, I used four 10' sticks of 7/8 SS tubing (50 $ each) 2 round 60deg 7/8 fittings. two 30 deg T's for the lower pipe, 6 90 deg T's to connect to the vertical pieces. 4 rectangual bases, ssealing silicone and ss bolts to attach to a bent place under the transom edge. The couplers and bases cost an average of 13$ each. so you do the math ( $400) and an afternoon.
try getting a couple of conduit tubes to practice with the pipe bender.
oh Yeah, the pipe bender was $40 at home depot.
