converting to rope halyards (1975 N27)

I have a 1975 Newport 27 and I want to convert to all rope halyards and get rid of the wire splice. The mast head is very narrow. Has anyone had success doing this? What sheeves did you use?

Thanks
Russ

I looked at that thread, but I was hoping to find someone that has done the conversion on the newport 27 mast head like mine.

Thanks Russ
