I just wanted to post on the Sailnet forum that there is an additional Sailnet list-server that is e-mail based. There is much more Newport discussion on the list-server than on the SailNet Forum. To read posts on the list-server go to this page:

We have an additional owner's list for "sidebar" e-mails (to send pictures, etc) so if you want to join that list send me a private message via this forum. Please send me your name, email, boat name/type so I can add you and be sure you are not going to send spam to the users. You won't be added to the sidebar list until you have participated in the list-server discussion.

By now I imagine everyone got the news that the mail server is kaput.

Myself I liked the old mail server method of communication, but they seem to be becoming relics of the past, and the forum has taken over.

Hopefully this forum will be as succesful as the old mail server was. If I recall correctly one reason I avoided this thing in the past was that sailnet was charging for this service. So far I see nothing about charges for using the forum. I hope it stays that way.
