Cockpit Hatch Wanted

If anyone has the misfortune of scrapping out a N30II, I am looking for the cockpit hatch and the portion of the cockpit seat that surrounds the hatch.

I plan to graft it onto the starboard side of my boat over the quarter berth so I have two accessible cockpit lockers.

There was a N-30 out of Moss Landing, CA that went onto the beach; the owner was trying to sell off the boat that was in a salvage yard somewhere east of Moss Landing (possibly Hollister?) If you do some searching you might be able to find the salvage company that -may- still have the boat.

I found a 1979 Newport 30 that was donated and sold by Ron Zwicky in January of this year. Could that be the boat from Moss Landing you were referring to?

I found it in my e-mail archive; not sure if this helps but if the salvage yard wants to scrap it you might be in luck. IIRC the boat went onto the beach; had rudder damage including damage to the rudder tube and possibly a damaged keel stub; and probably water damage to the interior. The owner was injured (broken leg IIRC) and could not fix the boat.

I certainly appreciate the information. I just found out the vessel is sold and the owner intends to keep her whole and make her a boat again.

So, if anyone else ever hears of a N30 (hopefully a Mk II) being parted out, I am very much interested in the cockpit hatch and surrounding area.
